Toxicity of combustion gasses

The renown fire institute SP Technical Research Institute in Sweden has performed as series of tests to measure the toxicity of combustion gasses from EPS and other insulation materials. This fact sheet is a summary of the project report, in which it is concluded that at summing up toxicity of all fire gasses produced (CIT, Conventional Index of Toxicity), all different types of EPS are considerably less toxic than natural products like wood or flax insulation and also less toxic than stone wool.
